Guess Who's Back

So today is my first race in some time...needless to say I'm a little nervous and maybe more so than any other event in the past. After having a hamstring pull and not being able to train like I wanted, I'm afraid I may re-injure myself and not do as well I would hope. However, there are some definite positives to race day.

Race days for me are what it's all about, all the hard work in training all comes down to this. It's kinda like football for me, I hated practice with a passion, but I loved the games. However, I don't hate training, it's just that I love the races so much. Now you may ask why and I'll tell you. There have been times in the past when I was going through some pretty tough times and sometimes you can't run away from certain types of problems. I remember when I ran the Run for the Arts back in 2012 (which I believe was my 3rd race ever at the time), I can't remember what exactly was going on but I was preoccupied mentally before the race but once I started all I did was focus on the task at hand and that's kinda what got me addicted. Those 30 minutes to an hour where you clear your mind and just compete with other people, it's truly a blast. Now don't get me wrong depending on a course, shit can be made to be very difficult if you don't know how to pace yourself and whatnot but either way it's still fun to be around a group of like minded people that enjoy running as much as you do.

So with that said, I'm mentally starting to prepare myself to run this race, which I don't remember the name of at the time but yeah. Hopefully things go well and I'm satisfied with my result. Thanks for reading, talk to you soon.

P.S. I'll let Rakim do the work for me, but...Guess Who's Back
